Actually, I had hoped to become a ballerina one day. Yes, really! I even pursued that career for quite some time. But today I work in public relations. I have a small agency and help others tell their stories. In discussions with my customers, I work out what their story really is, and then we share it with a wider public. I live in Valparaiso, a nice little town, very close to Chicago. The downtown area here is really great. There are lots of shops, small restaurants; everything has character. The whole area is very safe and children can ride around freely on their bikes – but for many people life isn’t as carefree as it used to be. You are more watchful and are always trying to keep an eye on things somehow. But were things better for our parents in the past?
I don’t know. I would really like to travel to Mumbai in India one day. I would love to try the fantastic food there, find out more about Indian culture, wear a sari and learn some Bollywood dances. I have a very clear picture in my mind. But is the country really how I imagine it? Maybe not.
