Orange is the perfect indicator color. It is easily visible to the human eye, even in poor light conditions, and is used in any situation where important things are happening – on our roads, for example, or when the emer-gency services head into action. Orange is a favorite of sports teams when it comes to branding, as it boosts their optimism and energy vibes. And its vibrant visual appeal has also been adopted by Gebrüder Weiss. The decision to make orange the firm’s corporate color can be traced back to a particular material and a rather charming anecdote. One day back in the 1930s, a customer order came in that was so urgent it prompted then company boss Ferdinand Weiss to dispatch a truck that had yet to have its topcoat of paint applied. Decked out only in its orange rustproofing, it turned heads and demonstrated the value of the color as an advertising tool. At Gebrüder Weiss, as elsewhere, orange was here to stay.
